Frank Jones Memorial Scholarship

It is our pleasure to acknowledge your educational achievements! The Frank Jones Memorial Scholarship (FJMS) was established in memory of one of our former pastors, The Reverend Frank Jones. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to active members of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church who seek to further their educational endeavors by attending a two (2) or four (4) year accredited institution of higher learning, a technical college, or a vocational school.

Applicant Must:

  • Be a member of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church for two (2) years before the application deadline date; (Membership number must be provided.)
  • Be involved in activities and/or ministries at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church.
  • Be transitioning from high school to a two (2) or four (4) year institution of higher learning, a technical college, or a vocational school in the upcoming Fall semester or quarter.
  • Submit an official high school transcript or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Submit a typed double-spaced brief biography “Tell Us About Yourself”! 
  • Submit an essay on the following topic:

What are the benefits and drawbacks of technology in our daily lives?
(Minimum 500 words typed double-spaced). Helpful writing tips are attached.

The Deadline Date for All Applications
is Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 12:00 Noon

How to Submit Completed Scholarship:

Online:

Submit the completed application electronically and upload ALL required documents except your
official transcript before the deadline. (Bring an official sealed transcript to your interview.)

Drop Off:

Place the completed application and ALL required documents in a sealed envelope with the applicant’s name
on the front of the envelope. Deliver a sealed envelope to The Church Front Office before the deadline date.
