Criteria:
The applicant must:
- Be a member of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church
- Have a 2.5 GPA or higher at the time of application
- Plan on majoring in Music or Technology during their undergraduate career
Essay Requirement:
The application must be submitted with a 200-300- word essay (typed and double spaced) addressing the following topic: “The Importance of Music in Everyday Life”.
Background:
This prestigious award was created in 2022 by Johnnie Womack in memory of her husband, the late Rev. Dr. William L. Womack, whose love for music of all genres shined through all his artistic endeavors. His impact on the industry of music and television is one of great significance. In memory of his legacy, this scholarship is offered to any high school student who plans on majoring in music and/or technology.
