Brandon James Butler Entrepreneurship Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000

Criteria:

The applicant must:

  • Be a Black/African-American graduating high-school senior in the Metro Atlanta area
  • Have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Be looking to start a business immediately after high school graduation OR be a graduating high-school senior with a business already in operation (student does NOT have to be attending college to qualify).

Submission Requirements

The applicant must submit a short business plan up to 2 pages/slides max that clearly answers each of the following five questions:

  1. What’s the problem?
  2. How do we know it’s a problem?
  3. What’s the solution?
  4. How do we summarize the solution?
  5. How do we prove it works?

No cover slide, logo, etc. is required. Submissions longer than 2 pages/slides will be disqualified.

Background:

The Brandon James Butler Entrepreneurship Scholarship was created in 2020 by Brandon Butler in dedication to his parents and family’s support of his entrepreneurial endeavors. The goal of this scholarship is to empower the next generation of Black entrepreneurs and leaders. This annual $1000 scholarship will be used to help fund business-related startup costs for aspiring young entrepreneurs of color.

All high school and college graduates must complete the Graduate Information Form for inclusion in graduate recognition activities.
